Friendships and type 1

Friends are vitally important to most young people whether they live with type 1 diabetes or not. But do your child's friends always know the best ways to support them?

We asked clinical psychologist Dr Keely Bebbington, the Children's Diabetes Centre's McCusker Research Fellow in Type 1 Diabetes, for her top tips on how to support a friend who has diabetes. Please share them among your child's friendship circle.

Young people are needed for a new study looking at ways to improve hypoglycaemia awareness through exercise. The study is based on the premise that impaired hypo awareness is an adaptive response of the body to repeated hypos.
