COUNTY WIN MAJOR HONOUR AT ECB BUSINESS OF CRICKET AWARDS

Worcestershire scooped one of the major awards at the ECB Business of Cricket Awards (BOCA) which were staged at Edgbaston last night.

The awards recognise and reward off the field excellence across the first class game and Worcestershire received the final award of the evening - The County Recognition Award.

The winner of the County Recognition Award was voted for all by all first class counties and a panel of senior figures at the ECB.

It is a reflection of the overall work the winning county has done to improve their business model against the principles of the Transformation Programme.

The winner had to demonstrate a real transformation throughout their business through increasing revenues including new streams, creating new facilities built around the customer, restructuring their staff and putting themselves at the heart of their community.

In addition, Worcestershire were shortlisted in five other categories - The County Marketing Award, The County Match Customer Experience Award, The Business Change Award, The Facilities Award and The Innovation Award.

It is another massive indication that Worcestershire are heading in the right direction ON and OFF the pitch.

ECB's Chief Operating Officer, Gordon Hollins, said: "These awards once again demonstrate the outstanding work our First Class counties did off-the-field last season to raise the profile of our domestic game and help attract a record number of spectators to the NatWest T20 Blast competition.

“As always, our judging panel were given the unenviable task of picking the winners from an outstanding pool of nominees.

"We thank them for their efforts and warmly congratulate all our winners whose hard work and creativity helped make 2014 such a memorable season for all concerned.”
