Join the BioMed Office of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies for a seminar entitled "Demystifying Cover Letters and Job Ads," presented by Jim Gould, PhD. Jim is the Director of the Office for Postdoctoral Fellows at Harvard Medical School and a former postdoc. He will talk about how to interpret job ads and tailor your cover letters for any job posting a PhD might apply to, from academic jobs to industry jobs and beyond. Come hear Jim speak and enjoy lunch on us!

Brown Junior Researchers Program
Several MCB graduate students initiated a volunteer program working with the Boys and Girls Club of East Providence to bring science and mentorship to elementary school kids. We have arranged to continue through the summer and are inviting others to get involved. The program will be held on Thursdays around lunchtime and will last 1 hour plus travel. There is no minimum attendance requirement so you can volunteer as much or as little as you like. Please contact John Santiago for more information.

BODY WORLDS Vital comes to Rhode Island
BODY WORLDS Vital celebrates the potential of the human body and the body in motion. Featuring authentic human bodies, the exhibition shows the body in health, distress, and disease. These detailed anatomical studies, compositions, and representations allow visitors a penetrating gaze at what lies beneath the skin. Fourth of July Festivities in Providence
Providence's Independence Day Celebration will be held at India Point Park on Monday, July 4. This expanded event will feature family friendly activities, a bike parade and valet, live entertainment and a fireworks display. This event is free and open to the public.
