Dear Friend We hope this email finds you and your family well and that you are enjoying the summer holidays. How nice it has been to have a bit of normality back in our lives this summer after the year we have been through. We do hope that you have been able to take advantage of it. As restrictions have eased, many single parent support groups will be re-opening their doors or thinking about doing so. We are therefore delighted to share our new group leaders' resources with you. We will also be announcing plans to recommence our Take a Break holidays, as well as introducing you to our wonderful new Take a Break Hosts and Volunteer Facebook Administrator. Kat Seney-Williams New group leader resourcesFor many single parents, support groups are a lifeline. We are therefore thrilled to announce the launch of our new single parent group leader resources: Single Parent Groups - Leader’s Guide, Single Parent Sessions and Single-Parent Fair Guide. These free, downloadable resources can help you, your church or community start a single parent support group or run an event for single parent families in your area. Re-establishing our support networks post-lockdown, whether it be family, friends or a support group, is incredibly important. They provide a listening ear, practical help and company, which I am sure is very welcome after the isolating year we have had. If you don’t have a support group in your area, why not consider starting one with the help of these guides? Meet AvrilAvril is a single parent who started a support group in her area. In this video I ask her why she started her group, how she adapted to the pandemic and where she sees her group going in the future. Avril also trained to become a Take a Break Host. She has a wealth of experience and we are looking forward to her joining the team in 2022! Meet SamWe are delighted to introduce you to Sam, our new Volunteer Single Parent Facebook Administrator. We first met Sam at a Care for the Family seminar at Spring Harvest. She then attended one of our Take a Break holidays with her family and went on to feature in two of our Single Parent Sessions videos. In one of the videos she talks about raising children of the opposite sex. To watch this video click on the link below. Sam then decided to apply for the Volunteer Facebook administrator position, as well as train to become a Take a Break Host. Sam is creative, full of ideas and it’s great to have her as part of the team! If you, or someone you know, have a heart to serve single parents and would like to know more about volunteering with us, please email me. Take a Break holidaysWe are excited to announce that our Take a Break holidays for single parent families will be going ahead in 2022 (government and centre dependent).
