WELCOME REBECCA LUTHER, NURSE PRACTITIONER You've probably noticed a new face at Hull Dermatology the last few weeks. We recently welcomed our first Nurse Practitioner, Rebecca Luther, to our Hull family. She worked as a registered nurse for 10 years in several areas, including intensive care and oral and maxillofacial surgery. She additionally spent several years as a nurse educator, returning to her alma mater as an instructor for EMSON. Rebecca then returned to school and received her master of nursing science from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, graduating with honors in 2015 with a specialty in family nurse practice. For many years, Rebecca has harbored an interest in assisting those patients who are suffering from dermatological issues and is thrilled to join the provider team at Hull Dermatology as the clinics first nurse practitioner. Rebecca received her certification through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She is a proud member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Rebecca is qualified to treat a variety of dermatology conditions including, but not limited to: acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer, warts, spots of concern, rashes, and disorders of the hair and nails. Rebecca married her high school sweetheart, who is a local firefighter. They are proud parents to two beautiful children, Violet and Milo. She enjoys time outdoors with her family and friends, engaging in activities such as kayaking, hiking and cookouts. She spends much of her free time in the kitchen baking sweet treats for loved ones. INTRO TO BODY CONTOURING: VANQUISH AND COOLSCULPTING By Gail Young Body contouring treatments help us alter the shape of our bodies without invasive surgical procedures. These treatments are perfect for the person who has areas of concern around their body. As Susie mentioned in our February newsletter, Hull Aesthetics has added the latest version of BTL Vanquish - Vanquish ME (ME stands for Maximum Energy) to our Body Contouring / Fat Reduction options. Vanquish ME is a non-invasive, fat removal and fat reduction procedure that works by using safe radio frequency technology to destroy fat cells. Vanquish treatments take less than an hour, and we recommend four to six treatments per area. Vanquish covers the abdomen from flank to flank, cumulatively improving circumferential reduction. It is wonderful to have options for our patients who need a little help losing those last couple inches around their tummy, thighs, and back. Sometimes, no matter how much you exercise, there are some areas that just won't go away. CoolSculpting is another body contouring treatment that we offer here at Hull Aesthetics. Unlike the radio frequency that Vanquish uses, CoolSculpting uses a targeted cooling process that kills the fat cells underneath the skin, literally freezing them to the point of elimination. Only fat cells are frozen. Your healthy skin cells remain healthy. No knives. No suction hoses. No needles. No scars. Once crystallized, the fat cells die and are naturally eliminated from your body. Like Vanquish, the Coolsculpting treatments take little time and we recommend four to eight treatments. Results of CoolSculpting are often seen after one treatment, but it may take a few months to fully realize the effects, mainly because it takes that long for your body to naturally dispose of the fat cells. We also offer CoolMini - which focuses on your chin, the fat pads above your knees, and those small pads of fat around your bra area in the front or back. Check out our before and after pictures of both Vanquish and Cool Sculpting from patients and fellow colleagues in our office. There are some happy ladies walking around town! And btw, our male patients are also taking advantage of these treatments, and getting great results. As I said earlier, to see your full results, it takes about two months after your last treatment, as every 'body' is different. However, some people feel a difference after two or three treatments, citing their pants being a little looser, their partner telling them they see a difference, or when they look in the mirror they can see the changes taking place. Call and schedule a free consultation to discuss your options. We want to determine which treatment is best for you. You may want to do Vanquish for your abdomen and flanks, and do Cool Sculpting for your hips (saddlebags). MILLIE HAS A HULL LOTTA LOVE FOR SKINCEUTICALS EPIDERMAL REPAIR! Epidermal Repair by SkinCeuticals is my favorite go-to product for post procedure care and other forms of compromised skin. It's perfect for short or long term use depending on your specific needs. Epidermal Repair is formulated to help support the function of the skin's natural barrier. It also helps diminish the appearance of redness in the skin. The key ingredients in Epidermal Repair help to protect the skin from harsh environmental stress. They also help soothe the skin and reduce the uncomfortable feeling that comes with compromised skin. As a kid growing up in the 70's, I spent most of my time outdoors, playing and worshipping the sun. I didn't think much about sunscreen back then, or worry about what damage I was doing to my skin. Thus, I've acquired those 'freckles' (aka sunspots) on my hands, arms and chest area. There is a treatment we offer called IPL - Intense Pulse Light - that can help rid your trouble areas of not only these sunspots, but also help improve the texture, feel and look of your skin. IPL delivers high intensity pulses of broadband light that is non-ablative, meaning that is does not damage the surface of the skin. The intense light is delivered to the deeper parts of the skin (dermis) and leaves the superficial aspect of the skin (epidermis) untouched. IPL involves minimal discomfort, and after your treatment your skin will slowly flake off this rough skin and these spots as well, leaving behind soft, smooth and 'freckle-free' skin! There are products you can apply daily after your treatment that will help improve the process, such as SkinCeuticals Epidermal Repair. Treatments are spread out 3-4 weeks at a time, and the difference is AMAZING! Those sunspots I had are diminishing, and my skin is much softer and smoother. Call today for a complimentary consultation to see what IPL can do for you. And of course, NEVER leave the house without applying sunscreen! VANQUISH SUCCESS STORIES! Our patients are loving the new Vanquish and wanted to share some of their success stories. "I’ve completed four Vanquish treatments and have seen results in my “trouble areas” by the third visit. Gail was my Technician and was very informative, attentive and passionate about her work. This is another fantastic service offered by Hull Dermatology! " T.D.J., male "I personally couldn't get rid of some stubborn fat on my lower abdomen with diet and exercise. I had tried to bump up my routine and would lose weight and build muscle in my stomach but I still couldn't get that area to budge. I have had great results with Vanquish and not only have I noticed improvement on the area of concern but I also noticed my love handles have shrunk, which is an added bonus. The nice thing is I could have it done and then go workout with no downtime and it actually was a pleasant treatment and all I felt was a gentle warmth on the area being treated." - R.S., female "When I first heard about vanquish, it sounded too good to be true. So I decided to would do a round of treatments and see how it did on me. It was very comfortable, and pretty much felt like a heating pad. It was actually very peaceful, and Gail took great care of me! After treatment, I went about my day as usual without limitations. I wasn't expecting fast results, but my husband noticed in just two treatments a big difference before I even did! The treatment and post-treatment experience was great and the results were even better than expected!" - B.B., female WHY PARTICIPATE IN CLINICAL TRIALS? • Help your own condition/disease Missed Appointment Policy If you are more than 15 minutes late or cancel with less than 24 hours notice, a fee will be assessed based on the amount of time that had been scheduled for you.
