In fact, recent analysis suggests we’re at risk of becoming a digital dawdler. It’s a dangerous place to be when other countries are enacting ambitious transformation goals and putting digital front and centre of their national policy settings. According to the European Center for Digital Competitiveness’ Digital Riser 2021 report Australia dropped 18 points off the ratings. But it also offers a playbook of best practice case studies from other more ambitious countries leading the way. While there are plenty of moves to push digital ahead in Australia, there's scope for more to be done, if we want to be a digital riser.
