Sally’s story...
The Sally’s story sessions are booking up quickly this year.
There are 2 sessions to choose from. Sally’s Journey uses a storybook about Sally the stick insect's search for a new home. The focus is looking at habitats and adaptations and uses puppets and indoor play equipment as well as a fully illustrated story book.
The focus for Sally’s Friends is the rainforest. The story is based around a tea party. Sally has to travel through the different layers of a rainforest to find her friends. The children help Sally by choosing the right food for each of the guests.
Both sessions are suitable for 3-4 year olds and 4-5 year olds.
Bookings can be made online. If you have any questions about a visit please contact Andy (01962 777270) or Sue (01962 777911).
Animal Stars at Marwell
All of the animals at Marwell are stars but we thought we would tell you about some of our new additions. Keep your eyes peeled whilst you walk around the zoo!
Our first newborn of 2017!
Meet Marty!
We are celebrating our first birth of 2017 after an adorable Roan antelope calf was born on Sunday 8 January.
The newborn male was born to mum ‘Pandora’ and dad ‘Fransiscus’ and has been named ‘Marty’ by our Hoofstock keepers.
Marty has been given access to the antelope’s paddock and has been exploring his new surroundings. He will be reared by his mother for the first six months of his life before becoming more independent in their enclosure which is just up the hill from the Sulawesi black macaque island, opposite Fur, Feathers and Scales.
