Dear Adviser,

On behalf of INSIGHTS and the Dean of Studies Office, welcome back! We hope that you had a wonderful summer, and are rested and ready to meet the incoming and returning students! 

The names of your advisees are being entered into our systems, and you will be able to view them in Student Planning on Friday, Aug. 24.  We will also be sending you, by the end of this week, their names and information. The information will come to you in the form of a shared Google folder. Please watch your email for this information, as we no longer use paper files. (For a refresher on how to use Student Planning, please review the Instruction Manual for Advising and Registration Systems - also found on the right side of the myBarnard portal under "Advising and Registration Resources"). Once you can see your advisees, feel free to email them to set up times to meet during Orientation or the first two weeks of class. 

Below are some important dates for you to keep in mind:

ADVISER BRIEFING
Monday, Aug. 27, 1 - 2:30 p.m., Sulzberger Parlor, Barnard Hall 
We will be joined by members of the Primary Care Health Services and Furman Counseling team, as well as by a representative from BCIT, to answer questions about Student Planning. LUNCH WILL BE SERVED

ADVISER BRIEFING REDUX 
Friday, Sept. 7, 12 - 1:30 p.m., Location TBD
For those who cannot attend on the 27th. LUNCH WILL BE SERVED

REGISTRATION INFO
Incoming students can begin registering for classes on Friday, Aug. 31. Students are given a time window during which they can register.

Advisers meeting with students during Orientation can access the "Grant Permission to Register" page in the WebAdvisor section of the myBarnard portal. On this page, advisers will need to check the boxes next to those students' names with whom they will have met before the students' registration time on Friday.

OTHER DATES TO KNOW
Enrollment Confirmation begins Wednesday, Aug. 29, and lasts through Wednesday, Sept. 5. Please remind your incoming and returning students to complete Enrollment Confirmation. 

New Students Orientation Program (NSOP) begins on Sunday, Aug. 26 and lasts through Monday, Sept. 3. Students will be attending required programming on the mornings of Monday, Aug. 27 through Friday, Aug. 31, so advising sessions should be scheduled between 1 - 4 p.m. if possible.
