If Congress enacts another short term reauthorization it will be the eighth extension. If Congress fails to act before the deadline existing policies will not be affected and claims will be paid. However, the renewal of existing policies and the issuance of new policies would be halted. System Maintenance Due to planned maintenance and upgrades, the SLIP and XML Batch filing systems will be offline this weekend.
