2nd Grade eNews

We have had a great week! Below will be all the information the students will need for the week after Thanksgiving – November 27-December 1. BE SURE AND KEEP THIS EMAIL!

We are looking forward to our two days next week. We will be reviewing many things we have been learning such as measurement skills in math, drawing conclusions in reading, and taking time to be thankful for all God has given us. We hope each of you has a very wonderful time of Thanksgiving with your families. Remember, we will be out of school Wednesday-Friday, November 22-24th.

• Bible – We will continue to work on Elijah, using I Kings 18:1-45.
• Verse - 2 Corinthians 3:12 “Therefore, having such a hope, we use great boldness.”
• Reading – Fact and Opinion
• Spelling – Words with the digraphs - ai, ay
• pay   wait   paint   train   pail   clay   tray   plain   stain   hay   gray   away   stay   day   raisin   birthday
• Grammar – We will continue to work on Compound Sentences.
• Math – Subtraction equations, identifying middle numbers, writing word problems, bar graphs, and counting money. We will continue to review “Borrowing” and work on timed test for our subtraction facts. We will also be working with three digit numbers and place value to hundred’s place. Please make sure you are reviewing addition and subtraction facts through 18 at home with flash cards. Students should know each math fact answer within 4 seconds of seeing the problem.

• November 22-24 – Thanksgiving Break – no school on these days
• December 6 – Class Picture Day – regular dress code
• December 7 – All School Christmas Chapel – 2nd Graders will be singing during this chapel – 9:15 in Worship Center
• December 15 – Christmas Parties from 12:15-1:00 – Early Dismissal – NO EXTENDED CARE
