Campus and Young Adult Ministry Grant Applications

The Episcopal Church invites proposals for grants to assist with ministries to Young Adult and Campus Ministries throughout the church. These grants are intended to provide funding for an Episcopal ministry (or ecumenical ministry with an Episcopal presence) in a diocese, congregation, or community college/tribal college/university campus who are doing or seek to do ministry with young adults on and off college campuses.

A total of $133,000 is available this year, with a total of $400,000 available this triennium. These grants are for the 2016-17 academic year. The deadline for submitting grants is May 23, 2016.

There are three categories of grants:

  • Leadership Grant: to establish a new, restore a dormant, or reenergize a current campus ministry. The grant will range between $20-30,000 and can be used over a two year period.
  • Campus Ministry Grants: to provide seed money to assist in the start-up of new, innovative campus ministries or to enhance a current ministry. Grants will range from $3-5,000.
  • Young Adult Ministry Grants: to provide seed money to assist in the start-up of new, innovative young adult ministries or to enhance a current ministry. Grants range from $3-5,000.

Grant proposals must show how the diocese, congregation, and/or campus ministry will support the ministry at the end of the grant term.

We hope this application process is an invitation to consider how Young Adult and Campus Ministry in the Episcopal Church can minister to young adults on and off college campuses (including Community College and Tribal College Campuses), non-traditional degree programs, in the military, as well as young adults who are not in college. We also invite grant proposals that seek to intentionally engage young adults and college students who have not been a part of a faith community in the Episcopal Church.

Nourish: Young Adult and Campus Ministry Leadership Conference

June 26-29, 2016 at the Maritime Center in Baltimore

Nourish: Young Adult and Campus Ministry Leadership Conference is an Episcopal conference for leaders in ministry with young adults on and off college campuses. We hope this gathering will be a time when leaders who are new to this work, as well as those who have longstanding roots in this ministry, will meet and connect with one another in order to be nourished and nurtured in ministry with young adults.

This year, our time will be focused around prayer, music and listening to one another’s wisdom. We will be hearing stories of mission, ministry, reconciliation, joys and struggles from a wide variety of people from around the church, we will be gathering with prayer and music at least three times a day, and will be nourishing ourselves through conversation, formation and listening to one another and where God is calling us.
