Leadership Training Institutes – A New Vision:
LAST CALL: Get your students registered while spots are still open! Same great program, new curricular-focused sessions! Last year, our Leadership Training Institutes went through a concept makeover to include more content for our student leaders. This year we have taken that model one-step further to include a multi-faceted content approach with each content session. Utilizing our Leadership Curricular Standards, sessions will hit learning expectations from each of our strands of leadership curriculum.

It's fair to say that we are living in interesting times. It's also fair to say that there is no shortage of opinions out there regarding, well, just about everything. Add in the ease with which we can instantly communicate with the entire world (see: social media) and you have an interesting cocktail of emotions, responses, allegations, and arguments to contend with daily. Article - Checks and Balances – Keeping Your Program in the Right:
In many cases, student volunteers are recruited to collect funds during lunch or after school for various events throughout the year. If collecting onsite, selected students should have specific knowledge of a building process and a few basic resources at their disposal.
First and foremost, a single student should never be in charge of a collection table alone. This is not necessary an indictment of trust, rather an expansion of student safety. Teams are more efficient; provide a greater range of service and allows for responsible accountability from peer to peer interactions. Read more here.

2017-18 Charity of the Year:
We are exited to introduce the National Alliance on Mental Illness - Michigan (NAMIMI) as the 2017-18 MASC/MAHS Michigan Student Leadership State Charity of the Year! NAMI Michigan and its affiliates are dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life for persons, families and others, who are affected by mental illness, including children with serious emotional disorders, through support, education, advocacy and research.
