Introducing Simple Mapper
Concept Maps, Network Diagrams, and Workflows
We developed our newest web tool, Simple Mapper
, to power our site on the brain (www.g2conline.org). You can use it to organize what comes out of yours! In Simple Mapper you can:
- Make a concept map that shows relationships between concepts or ideas.
- Make a network diagram that shows interactions between people, molecules, stars, or any group of things.
- Make a workflow to show how something works.
Registered users can create maps, duplicate maps from others, and create user Groups to share maps. Use Simple Mapper with students!
Opportunities for Educators
New York City teachers can take advantage of professional development training in hands-on, inquiry-based experiments in genetics and biotechnology at our Harlem DNA Lab.
The Genomics in Education Workshop introduces educational adaptations of iPlant Collaborative computational tools and datasets. The workshop focuses on the use of DNA Subway
, a collaborative workspace to generate DNA sequence annotations, conduct phylogenetic analyses, and analyze Next-Generation Sequencing data.

DNA from the Beginning
DNAftB will soon have a new look! We are updating our first and most popular educational website to make it easier to navigate. We are adding jump points to the concept animations to fast-forward to your favorite parts, upgrading the video clips, and giving the page design a facelift. Check back in early fall for the new DNA from the Beginning!
