Connecting the Dots: Wages, Opportunity, and Affordability

Solving NYC’s affordability crisis requires more than just housing — it takes bold investment in people. In our new joint op-ed with the New York City Employment and Training Coalition, we lay out a vision that includes:

  • Higher wages that keep up with the cost of living
  • Pathways to middle-wage careers with real mobility
  • Opportunities to build wealth and long-term stability

This is why CPC continues to advocate for higher wages, not only for all New Yorkers, but also as a champion of the Just Pay for Human Services Workers and Fair Pay for Home Care Workers Campaigns.

With decisive leadership from our city and state officials — and from the candidates seeking to serve — we can build a New York City that is fairer, more resilient, and truly affordable for all.

"Tackling affordability is inseparable from tackling inequity: unless wages, housing and services are made equitable, the promise of this city will remain out of reach for those who make it run."
