Two SAECF grantees have been featured in the news recently.
Beta Cell Technologies, featured on Nine News Adelaide, is developing a novel ectopic skin pancreas which may eliminate the need for injections in type 1 diabetes patients.

NHMRC National Scientific Committees
|
The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is piloting National Scientific Committees (NSCs) to provide advice to researchers on clinical trials involving medical devices and complex genetic research.
The NSCs will provide advice and a report as part of this initiative. During the pilot (ending 30 June 2017) applicants will not be charged for this service.

Nominations open for Kerrin Rennie Award for Excellence in Medical Technology
|
MTAA invites the Australian medical technology industry to participate in the 2017 Kerrin Rennie Award for Excellence in Medical Technology – Improving Quality of Life.
Any medical technology company based in or represented in Australia may enter a product launched in Australia between 1 January 2015 and 25 August 2017 and used in the diagnosis, prevention or treatment of disease or disability or improvement of quality of life.
Entry is not limited to members of MTAA.
