Hey everyone!

To say that my fundraiser (which I launched exactly a week ago today) was a success is a slight understatement. I reached my goal in less than 11 hours, and the stretch goal in less than 4 days!

It was quite an experience; everything happened so quickly. I put the site live, sent out a newsletter, and within two (!) minutes I had more than $1000. What a stark contrast to my first attempt at fundraising for Offscreen almost five years ago. And what a difference a supportive, thoughtful community can make.

If you've already pledged, once again a big thank you! If you haven't, there is stil time to chip in $10 or more and sign up before my first diary email goes out (this Sunday).

I feel so lucky to have such encouraging and kind people enabling me to do what I do. 🙌

This Weekʼs Line-Up

A lightweight, slim backpack
01

While I'm not a huge fan of the look of this backpack, I like its premise: a lightweight, flexible, and minimal alternative to the many over-engineered backpacks out there. Rather than offering a million and one features, this thing aims to be a simple, no-frills and light alternative. (Currently on Kickstarter)

An app for easy flowcharts
02

I'm working on a flowchart for the new Offscreen checkout experience and the free Draw.io came in really handy. It integrates really nicely with Google Docs and even looks (almost confusingly) like an original Google web app.

A light, charger, and speaker in one
03

This table lamp combines a lot of useful features into one neat product: "It's an LED light with a speaker installed that can charge an iPhone. By rotating the Lightning terminal hidden in the base, you can easily charge your iPhone and iPad at an easy-to-use angle. A warm white light and high-quality speakers are installed in the hood of the lamp, allowing you to direct your favorite music in the direction of where the light is shining. By simply installing a free clock app, you can even make this light into a multi-functional alarm clock using light and music."

A unified workspace for teams
04

Notion is a new tool that unifies collaborative docs, wikis, and tasks under one umbrella. It also comes with Slack notification options, so you really got the whole team setup covered.

An earphone cable organiser
05

I literally just untangled my own earphones when I came across Cableyoyo, an earbud cord spool with a magnetic center to keep earphones tidy and tangle-free while enabling quick winding and unwinding.

A simple, quick-polling tool
06

doopoll is a simplistic, fast, and accessible little app to quickly throw together anonymous polls that look good and work well on all devices.
