Event Proofing & Ticketing Tips

You should have received an email today detailing how you can review your website listing (if not, check your junk then get in touch). If you have any changes or issues, simply email events@midsumma.org.au.

Is your event ticketed? If so, you should have received an invite to create an account with our ticketing provider, Eventfinda. Simply log in to review your event's ticketing information by selecting Box Office under your event name. Any issues please email events@midsumma.org.au.

We encourage you to read our important Ticketing Tips & Hints document. This will give you extremely helpful ticketing information and important how-to instructions to answer all your ticketing queries, including
✸ Eventfinda & Sales Reports
✸ Promo Codes & Promotions
✸ Complimentary Tickets & Holds
✸ Box Office & Front House + more

Remember that Midsumma Comp Tickets are complimentary tickets that Midsumma allocates. There are many reasons we allocate comp tickets (to media, sponsors, industry VIPs), helping us spread the word about your event. You may see these comp tickets on your sales reports. We limit Midsumma comps to 4% of your capacity or 6 tickets per session, whichever is higher.

Need to request your own complimentary tickets? You can allocate up to 10% of your total capacity as Producer Comps.  Request these by filling out the Producer Comp Tickets Request Form (min. 48 hours prior to session).

Got any questions? Having trouble loading reports? Get in touch with via events@midsumma.org.au

Roving Rights at Carnival

Register your interest in roving at Midsumma Carnival now! This is a great opportunity to promote your event. Roving rights allow you to dress-up and roam around Carnival handing out flyers and telling people about your event. As a registered event this is totally free (normally $2000). To register for roving rights please email events@midsumma.org.au by 16 Dec.

Facebook Events

Have you made a Facebook event page for your Midsumma event? We highly encourage you to get one ready to go prior to launch. It's is a great way to announce your event, spread the word, create buzz, send updates to people interested in your event and connect with the Midsumma audience.

Make sure you add Midsumma as a co-host! Our audience regularly discover and connect with our events via the Midsumma Facebook page. If you list Midsumma as a co-host, your event will be included in this list of events.

While you're logged in to Facebook, we encourage you to join the
2020 Midsumma Festival Event Producers Facebook Group.
The Midsumma team will post important updates and reminders here -
you can also connect with other Midsumma Event Producers.

Journalist Contacts

By now you should have completed your Media Release and uploaded it to Eventotron - if not, get on it ASAP (check out our Media and Publicity Guide and head to the Media Release tab if you need help creating yours).

Although Midsumma will utilise your Media Release we also encourage you to build your own media lists and start circulating your media release independently. Start by using Midsumma's list of Journalist Contacts.
Send your media release to newspapers, bloggers, radio shows and more.
You are part of an amazing festival so take advantage of the hype.
