World land speed record team, Aussie Invader is proud to announce Speedmark Transportation Inc (Speedmark) as official transport provider for 2012.
The international freight and logistics company will become a major sponsor and provide international transport solutions to the rocket-car team in its preparation for testing in 2013.
With a 200,000 hp rocket and 62,000 pounds of thrust Aussie Invader 5R will be the most powerful car ever built. Capable of 1000 mph (1609 km/h) it will reach top speed in 20 seconds, traveling faster than a bullet fired from a handgun.
The partnership is a major achievement for Aussie Invader, which requires regular freight for specialist rocket-car components being developed internationally.
Aussie Invader figurehead and driver, Rosco McGlashan OAM, said the deal is huge step forward for the team.
“I’m absolutely wrapped to have Speedmark on board. We’re getting wheels developed in the UK, components from the US, injectors from New Zealand as well as needing to get around Australia to show off the car. We simply couldn’t do it without having a high-end international freight company like Speedmark support us and obviously we're a match made in heaven with a name like Speedmark!”
Managing Director Speedmark Australia, Glenn Marr, added, “We are very excited to be part of this once in a lifetime project. Rosco and his team have a clear vision and we can see they will make this happen. Watching the Speedmark logo whiz by at 1000 mph will be a very impressive sight!”
Rosco will be a keynote speaker at the Construction and Mining Expo 2012 (CME), held at Sandalford Estate WA from 15-17 March.
