2 THINGS TO DO ON CRACKING IDEAS

2 THINGS TO DO ON CRACKING IDEAS

Cracking Ideas National Competition 2009

Have you got ideas for Wallace and Gromit’s next business venture?

If you do then why not enter our competition – all you have to do is come up with an idea for the innovative duo’s next business. Once you have done this, you can then draw their new inventions, design their logos, and think about how intellectual property (patents, trade marks, designs and copyright) can help Wallace and Gromit protect their new business.

The competition is open to children ages 4 – 16, with three age groups (4 – 7, 8 – 11 and 12 – 16). You can enter using our activity packs through your school, group or individually from home.

It’s cracking fun and you could win some fantastic prizes including a laptop, an exclusive sketch signed by Nick Park and a bespoke trophy created by Aardman’s model makers.

So what are you waiting for get your thinking cap on and enter the competition!

Monthly Challenges

To warm up for the competition why not enter one of our monthly challenges?

This month Wallace and Gromit invite you to design a float for their neighbourhood carnival. The float should impress the locals and could contain characters from their films or one of Wallace’s gadgets.

This month’s prize is a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) to the Wallace and Gromit Present a World of Cracking Ideas exhibition at the Science Museum, London.

Go to www.crackingideas.com/challenges for details on how to enter this month’s challenge.

The winner of April’s “Invent a Toy” challenge was “Mouse 2000”- an ingenious toy which allows you to watch TV, plays music to help to get you to sleep and is a communication device between you and your other Mouse 2000 friends.

The winner was awarded a copy of Wallace and Gromit’s latest short film “A Matter of Loaf and Death” on DVD.
