Announcing the 2012 Goradia Innovation Prize Program Finalists
Awards & Company Presentation to Take Place at IC&S
The Goradia Family Foundation and Opportunity Houston, Greater Houston Partnership have provided prize money for this year’s 2012 Goradia Innovation Prize Program. In its third year, the Goradia Innovation Prize is awarded to early stage companies that have commercialized or are very close to commercializing innovative technologies within the Gulf Coast Region.

A panel of distinguished judges have selected the 2012 Goradia Innovation Prize Program finalists as follows:

HTC Welcomes New Director of Marketing & Communications,
M. Heather Dunn
Heather Dunn serves as Director, Marketing and Communications for the Houston Technology Center (HTC). Heather has been a high tech marketer for over ten years, most recently for seven years in various marketing management positions at Hewlett-Packard in Houston, and previously in Austin with Dell, Inc and technology start-ups/ As Marketing Director, Heather oversees all corporate communications and integrated marketing strategy initiatives, including advertising, media relations, public relations, social media and branding activities for the HTC.
HTC Welcomes New Executive In Residence, Jack Smyth
Jack Smyth’s experience is quite varied, ranging from startup companies to Fortune 50 enterprises. Industries range from information technology to healthcare to mail order to education.
During his eight years leading Spring Medical Jack built a reputation as a thought leader in Healthcare IT while winning three Houston Fast 100 awards and two Houston FastTech 50 awards. He has also won awards for speaking and teaching.
Shortly after leaving Spring Medical, RedHouse Associates, a new venture incubator, invited Jack to become an Entrepreneur in Residence providing coaching assistance to portfolio company CEOs as he looks for his next full-time opportunity. Jack’s skills include sales, marketing, strategy and operations.

Resident Spotlight: Mariam Jacob
Mariam Jacob is a Resident in the Energy and IT Acceleration Programs of HTC. She has extensive experience in helping companies to develop and implement key initiatives, corporate strategy, and strategic alliances. Mariam has also served on various non-profit boards. Most recently, she served as VP of Marketing for MBA Women International’s National Student Leadership Team. She graduated from SMU with a BS in economics. She will graduate from UH with her MBA in December 2012.
