Like Crazy tells the story of a friendship between Beatrice, a self-styled billionaire countess who likes to believe she’s on intimate terms with world leaders and Donatella, a fragile young woman locked in her own mystery. They are both patients at a progressive but secure psychiatric clinic, but flee the mental institution in search of love and happiness in the open-air asylum - the world of sane people. This is a roller coaster ride of a film with a real message about friendship, freedom and mental illness.
