BOARD OF DIRECTORS - MONTHLY MEETING
On April 19th, the Championship POA Board of Directors held their April meeting, with all Directors and one homeowner in attendance.
The President took the opportunity to congratulate the following individuals who will remain on the Board for the next two years: Teresita Leonard from Eagleton Estates, Thomas Sedita from Augusta Pointe, and Dianne Silich from Grand Cay. He also congratulated the Officers, with Tom Murphy from Eagleton Lakes as President, Thomas Sedita from Augusta Pointe as Vice President, Paul Slepakoff from Pinehurst as Treasurer, and Terri Leonard from Eagleton Estates as Secretary.
The Treasurer provided a positive report on the financial status of the organization, stating that we were well within budget for the first quarter and that he did not anticipate any issues as the year progresses.
BACK GATE IMPROVEMENTS
Ed Finkelstein and Paul Slepakoff are currently working on enhancing the back gate area. However, they have identified irrigation as a significant issue that needs to be addressed. To resolve this problem, they plan to request the Monterey Pointe Board to permit Championship to extend their irrigation system to the back gate. The cost of this extension will be borne by the Championship POA.
LANDSCAPE
The landscape team consisting of Dianne Silich and Paul Slepakoff, in collaboration with the Property Manager, are actively engaging on a regular basis with Revival Landscaping representatives to evaluate all the common areas and authorize any required replanting, cleaning, and enhancements. The community's appearance is outstanding due to their hard work and dedication.
LIGHTING
Efforts to address the problematic landscape and roadway lighting on Championship Drive are ongoing. Terri Leonard and David Ahr are working with local electrical contractors to find a viable and affordable solution. While it is a challenging task, they anticipate significant improvements to be made in the coming months.
ROADWAYS
The team responsible for maintaining the roadway, consisting of Paul Slepakoff and Ed Finkelstein, reported that a contract has been finalized for the repaving of General Drive. The repaving work will cover the area from the back gate to the entrance of Grand Cay and is scheduled to take place during May or June. Homeowners will be updated on the exact timings before the work begins.
Additionally, once the repaving work is completed, we plan to replace the pavers around the Reclinata circle before the end of the year.
PRIVACY
The privacy team, consisting of Tom Sedita and Tom Murphy, has announced that the contract with St. Moritz Security will be renewed with the minimum increase specified in the current five-year contract. This decision was made due to the outstanding job performed by our gate officers and St. Moritz in general. According to Tom Murphy, St. Moritz responded to 2,525 calls for service and issued 5,281 violations in calendar year 2022.
However, one of the ongoing security concerns is the theft of vehicles, as highlighted in the following article.
LOCK YOUR CAR!
Homeowners should remember to always lock their cars and remove their keys and key fobs from the car.
It has been observed that all recent car thefts in PGA National and many throughout Palm Beach County have happened due to unlocked cars with keys or key fobs left inside. By taking a few extra seconds to secure their vehicle and remove their keys or key fobs, homeowners can help prevent theft and keep their property safe.
PGA POA ASSESSMENT
The PGA Property Owners Association (PGA POA) has recently announced that the annual assessment for 2023 will increase to $880, which is the first increase in two years. Residents will receive the assessment notice in early June, which will include a new account number, banking options, and access to a new portal.
It is crucial to note that this assessment is from the Master POA Association in PGA National and not the Championship POA Assessment which is paid by homeowners in Eagleton through their individual Homeowners Association assessment.
The PGA POA assessments must be paid by the July 1st due date.

AVENUE OF THE MASTERS REPAVING
The Northern Palm Beach County Improvement District (NPBCID) has recently announced their plans to repave Avenue of The Masters in late May or early June 2023. During this time, residents are advised to seek alternative routes whenever possible.
Furthermore, a new pedestrian crosswalk equipped with flashing lights will be installed at the intersection of Avenue of the Masters and Old Meadow Way. Pedestrians will need to activate the warning signals by pressing the crossing button before crossing the roadway.
When driving on Avenue of the Masters (and everywhere), it is important to remain vigilant and yield to pedestrians.
ADDITIONAL CROSSINGS ON RYDER CUP BLVD.
The NPBCID has also announced their plan to enhance pedestrian safety by installing three crosswalks on Ryder Cup Boulevard. These crosswalks will be situated at Preston, Dunbar Woods, and the Townhomes of Marlwood. This initiative aims to provide a safer and more accessible environment for pedestrians in the area.
HOME RENTALS
If you're considering renting out your home through VRBO, Airbnb, or directly, it's important to note that all lease agreements must be reviewed by the PGA POA. This is a necessary step to ensure that the rental is in compliance with community guidelines and regulations. Failure to do so may result in fines or other penalties. Thank you for your dedication to keeping our community safe and harmonious.
