Ahoy Hot Bottlers!

The hot weather is sizzling, the vino is in the ice bucket and I’m surfing my very own river of wine all the way to The Sea of Splendour.

I’ll be appearing at the Eat & Drink Festival, Ideal Home Show in Glasgow this Friday 26th May and in Manchester on 8th June, pouring lashings of wine courtesy of The Wine Society, come and join me, tickets are on sale here.

I hope you've been enjoying my new podcast A Glass With...We are recording series 2 right now, but look out for a special bonus episode which will be released tomorrow!  You can subscribe at aglasswith.com, listen to series 1 and spread the word!

In a couple of weeks, I’ll be zooming back to the States to start filming series 2 of Olly Smith’s Ale Trails.  Yee hah! You can follow my journey on social media - check out my Instagram where I'll be posting my adventures.

Chris Evans' BBC Radio 2 Dine & Disco is back! In support of Children In Need and with the kind support of Corney & Barrow I’m delighted to be joining the line up with Tom Kerridge, Atul Kochhar, José Pizarro, Luke Matthews and Mo Gherras serving a wealth of wonder at Chewton Glen with the legendary ELO lighting up the soundwaves and all for a fantastic cause.

Come and join me and my pals Oz Clarke and Tim Atkin for a bubbly night with Three Wine Men at Let’s Get Fizzical at the East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf 7th June where some of the world’s finest bottles of bubbly will be popping open ready to leap into your glass.

And I’ll also be leading the charge with P&O Cruises on my brand new shore excursions to Blandy’s Wine Lodge in Madeira. Come and join me!  You can find the details here

With English Wine Week around the corner from 27th May to 4th June, it’s time to celebrate some of our fabulous home grown vino:

FIZZ: Hambledon NV Rosé (12%) £35 hambledonvineyard.co.uk is astonishingly delicious and worth every penny - precise, pristine and near-perfection for every summery celebration.

RED: Hush Heath Pinot Noir 2015 (11%) £19 hushheath.com An English red to set your wine-o-clock by. Enthrallingly bright and beautiful, I love it served lightly chilled with a barbecue.

WHITE: Lyme Bay Chardonnay 2015 (11.5%) £15 M&S. Near Puligny in quality and style yet uniquely English, this Dorset dazzler is worth every penny of its price tag.

Keep on sipping for Britain and don’t forget to vote for me in the Great British Food Awards - I'm up for Best Drinks Writer woo hoo!

Finally, I'm dreadfully sad to bid farewell to my inspiration Sir Roger Moore this week. My hero as 007 but truly heroic as Ambassador for UNICEF. Rest peacefully my friend.

Here’s to you,

Olly x
