Yes, you read that correctly. This month, we began a project to bring clean water systems to 92 communities in northern and western Nicaragua.
Between December and March, we will install a CTI-8 water chlorination system in each of these 92 communities, purifying the water source for more than 50,000 Nicaraguans!
This is the biggest project we have ever taken on, and our entire team is working together to ensure a successful implementation in each community.
Visit this photo album on our Facebook page to see more pictures of the CTI-8 technology and our progress with this project over the next few months.

There is still time to end your year and the giving season with a bang by making a donation to EOS International!
If you donate by 12/31, you'll get the deduction for the current tax year. Plus, your donation will help create a better future for someone like the children pictured to the right.

Empowering women entrepreneurs with micro-loans and low-cost technology
In the developing world, access to low-cost technology is a gateway to a better future. However, families at the bottom of the pyramid often do not have enough money to pay in full for such an investment (as low as $50-$150), so they remain stuck in their current situation.
One solution to end this cycle is to combine low-cost technology with access to low-interest, micro-loans.
This month, we are proud to announce our first partnership and pilot project with a micro-finance organization in Nicaragua! We are working with US-based non-profit, People Helping People Global (PHPG), to help women entrepreneurs start small businesses with EOS technologies.
The EOS team is promoting, installing and providing education and training on use and maintenance of the technologies. PHPG is organizing the loan groups, providing the loan and managing the repayment process. This is two organizations focusing on what they do best, to help families at the bottom of the pyramid get out of poverty. It's a perfect match.
Our first group of lenders is in the community of Soldedad de Cruz, where nine entrepreneurs have already received a loan of roughly $150 to start their business. Eight are starting small bakeries with a fuel-efficient oven from EOS and one is going to grow and sell vegetables during the dry season with an EOS drip irrigation system.
All nine of these technologies were installed this month, allowing the businesses to open before Christmas. We will be kicking off another lending group in January, and will be introducing you to these entrepreneurs and their business visions.
In the mean time, you can learn more about PHPG and their 0% interest model at their website.
