PreK4 eNews

We had a wonderful week talking about all we are thankful for and learning about that first Thanksgiving!  From discussing that the Pilgrims came to America so they could worship God freely to learning how God provided for the Pilgrims, we learned about God’s sovereignty.  We are thankful that we can share with your children that God has a plan for everyone!

Thank you for helping with our November mission project, filling the shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.   We are thankful for parents who partner with us!  Items need to be sent to school on or before Wednesday, November 15.

Next Week

  • Bible Verse: “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.” Psalm 118:1 (We will recite this verse in chapel on Thursday. Practice at home too!)
  • Bible Story:  The First Thanksgiving (Although this story is not from God’s word, we will learn how this event from our history was part of God’s plan)
  • Reading/Phonemic Awareness: We will introduce the vowel “Ii” and the short vowel sound that /i/ makes (think igloo and itch).
  • Math:  #7
  • Unit:  Thanksgiving
  • Show and Tell: Bring a picture ( can be drawn, printed, or a photo) of something you are thankful for!

Reminders

  • Please send a jacket with your child each day. We try to give the children some time for running and playing outside, even on chilly days!
  • Snacks: Monday through Friday – Cereal, goldfish, crackers, or pretzels.  Dried fruit will be offered.

Looking Ahead

  • November 21st – Each class will have a small Thanksgiving “feast” as a reminder of the first Thanksgiving.  Please look for an email from your child’s teacher.
  • November 22- 26th - Thanksgiving Break
  • November 28th  – Shiloh at Chick-Fil-A.  Visit either Chick-Fil-A at the NWA mall or on Walnut St. in Rogers and a portion of the money spent will be donated to our school!
  • December 6th – Class Pictures (regular dress code clothing)
  • December 7th - Christmas Chapel (with elementary and secondary students together) at 9:15 in the Worship Center
