As an adviser, it is common to be overwhelmed with the work you have on your plate. And knowing that student council is a student-run organization, many of us try to make sure that it's our students who are doing the work. In fact, one person I've looked up to in this profession once said, "If you are doing your job right, you are making sure your students are the ones putting in more of the work because that's where the real learning happens for them - not because you did all of their work." The MASC/MAHS Michigan Student Leadership Advisor Board brings together advisors from across the state to ensure we are developing the finest programming, implementing well thought out procedures and that the best resources are being provided to our member schools. In order to create a formal process to join the Advisor Board, our current board helped to develop a process to ensure that voices are heard from across the state. MASC/MAHS Michigan Student Leadership offers a wide variety of programs that give students the ability to be involved in a number of activities, as well as a platform to raise their voice in our organization and across the state. Each year, more than 30 students are selected to represent ALL of our member school students on the Student Board of Delegates.
