HEZELL HAS A HULL LOTTA LOVE FOR COOLSCULPTING AND VANQUISH! Like many other women, I have felt my body changing through the years. After my 35th birthday, I noticed that is harder to get rid of stubborn areas of fat. In my case one of those areas was my back. The reason I noticed this is because I had a few dresses with open back slip that I didn’t want to wear anymore because my back looked fatter, and even though I had tried to eat healthier and exercise regularly, it wasn’t enough. I got to the point where I was ready to try a fat reducing treatment. I first looked for coolsculpting, (non-surgical fat freezing procedure) but the fat I had on my back wasn’t enough to be a candidate for Coolsculpting, then I decided to try Vanquish, a treatment used for body contouring designed to eliminate fat from unwanted areas. This equipment uses radio frequency energy to warm the fat layer and kill the unwanted fat cells. I did six treatments once a week for 45 minute. I felt a mild warming sensation on the area I treated during the procedure and I loved it because it was painless. The best part happened eight weeks later after I started my journey with Vanquish, I decided to try one of my favorite open back dresses and it fit perfectly. The fat I had in this area had diminished noticeably. We aren’t meant to be perfect, but we can help ourselves to feel better in our own skin, and If you are like me and have issues with stubborn areas of fat that make you feel insecure, give CoolSculpting or Vanquish the opportunity to help you melt that fat away. By: Hezell Montoya, Licensed Medical Aesthetician Are you looking to give your skin a fresh start for this fall and winter season? Think about a chemical peel. They are very helpful when it comes to treating several aspects of the skin. Do you want to improve texture, discoloration, and scars or even treat precancerous skin lesions? We have several options for chemical peels. However, the first step is to have a consultation with your medical aesthetician to see what kind of chemical peel will be the most appropriate for your skin type and your lifestyle. Micropeels, Obagi Radiance, and Hydrafacial peels are the least aggressive category of our chemical peels. Almost all skin types can tolerate them very well. Whether you want a light exfoliation or something a little more intense, we will be able to customize your treatment. These peels are not going cause a lot of skin peeling and they require a minimum of four to six treatments every 3 to 4 weeks to notice an improvement on the skin. Micropeel plus and Vitamin A are the second category because these peels are a little bit more intense. We can control the amount of peeling based on the layers we apply or the time we let the product stay on the skin. These peels will give you a moderate amount of peeling that usually resolves after five days to a week depending on the skin tolerance. These peels are really popular because they are affordable and very effective on improving skin appearance. Hull Aesthetics Mini, VI, and Obagi Blue peels are our third category of chemical peels. They produce reddening and increased peeling that will usually last a week or more. These peels typically deliver wonderful results, but is important to keep in mind the down time in order to follow a good aftercare plan. Give your skin the opportunity to erase sun damage and fine lines while looking younger! Take the first step by allowing us to guide you thought this journey. By: Audrey Glidewell, Product Specialist As we age, our skin starts to lose its natural glow and starts to look dull and tired. This can begin at an early age, but fortunately it can easily be treated with the right skincare routine and monthly visits to your medical spa. Although the rest of your body may be energized and ready to go, the blood flow to your skin and your body's natural exfoliation process (cell turnover) both start to slow down at the age of 30. So does your skins oil production which can leave your skin looking dry and rough. To restore your skin naturals glow, exfoliate once a week with an at-home alpha hydroxy acid or salicylic acid, and always moisturize afterwards. You can also use retinols NIGHTLY to help generate cell turnover which in turn helps with every skin concern from acne, acne scaring, texture, fine lines, pores and then of course dullness. The Skin Solution at Hull Dermatology and Aesthetics, we carry a few products to help get your skin to bounce back! September Featured Products: Skin Medica AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser $51 Skin Medica AHA/BHA Cream $48 By: Kelley Rosen, Licensed Medical Aesthetician It is that time of year again! Fall is approaching soon and it will time to update your skincare routine. We all know that a change in seasons typically means a change in the way our skin behaves. Are you ready to kiss summer goodbye? My favorite update to get the skin ready is exfoliation. Exfoliation will brighten your skin and help reduce breakouts by removing the dead skin cells that have trapped the oil buildup, especially from time spent at the lake and beach. If you have taken a break from Retinol during the summer, now is the time to put it back in your routine. I personally love SkinMedica's Retinol Complex. I use .25% starting out 2x a week and increase the use and percentage as my skin will tolerate. You can start with a higher percentage depending on your skin type. Expect some redness, flakiness and always wear a daily SPF of 30 or above. Start using a well formulated facial scrub or cleanser/scrub combination and adding acid exfoliating serums to your home routine. This will help get your skin ready for your favorite peel series. Mine is the VI Precision Plus. It will reduce sun damage and age spots while brightening your skin and helping to even out your skin tone and texture. Your cleansing routine should also change. I always go for a lighter foam or gel based cleanser in the summer and a creamier one in the fall. SkinMedica's AHA/BHA Cream Cleanser is another favorite of mine. It has jojoba beads in it for exfoliation, plus the double bonus of AHA/BHA acids. I'm getting exfoliation, brightening, and smoothing all in one product. We all need to boost hydration. An alcohol-free toner is perfect for this. I know, I know...a lot of us don't use a toner. But, it gives the skin the water and hydration it needs. Apply your serum or moisturizer while the toner is still damp on your skin to seal it in. Last, but certainly not least, is our moisturizer change. Our skin will start losing moisture when the weather cools down. So, use a slightly more hydrating lotion or cream. If your skin is still feeling a little dry add a hydrator. SkinMedica's HA5 or SkinCeuticals HA Intensifier serum will help draw moisture to your skin. Always, always protect with sunscreen. We have tinted and untinted available in The Skin Solution store. Ladies and Gents...above all else listen to your skin. Make certain that you are using products that address your skin's needs. Give us a call and schedule a complimentary consult on the products and treatments that are right for you.
