CPC is excited to work alongside PSLF.nyc, a coalition of nonprofits, government agencies, and labor unions, to spread the word about the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Waiver. Many of our colleagues are already working through the process and will have loans forgiven soon. This week, PSLF.nyc will be hosting a free webinar on the waiver this week, which will include an overview of the PSLF program and explain the basics of submitting an application. Additionally, a series of in-person and virtual public events are being hosted by the Brooklyn, New York, and Queens Public Libraries that will offer coaching and online counseling for those who need further assistance. - Brooklyn Public Library in-person and online events (various dates) - New York Public Library in-person (various dates) - Queens Public Library in-person and online events (various dates) - PSLF.nyc Webinar: Intro to PSLF for Borrowers (Register here for Wednesday 9/14, 12 noon) Approximately 250,000 New Yorkers are eligible to have all their student loans erased. 5,000 New Yorkers have already had an average of $63,935 forgiven! The deadline to take advantage of the federal waiver is October 31, 2022. We encourage you to take action now!
