Report: Training for early childhood education and care in Australia

The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) published the findings of its national strategic review of early childhood care and education training on 20 August 2015.

A sample group of 77 RTOs were audited as part of the review. This is roughly one-third of the RTOs delivering early childhood and child care programs.

Australian Industry and Skills Committee (the AISC ) 3rd meeting

In their 1 September meeting the AISC carefully reviewed advice from ISCs about the number of training packages that will come forward for consideration in the remainder of 2015.

The need for prioritisation was noted, given that over 30 training packages will be submitted in late November. This might mean that some will not be considered in 2015.

Apprentices & trainees 2015 - March quarter

This latest release of quarterly data shows a decline in the number of apprentices and trainees in training, as well as a decline in commencements and completions, an increase in cancellations and withdrawals was also recorded.
