Introduction to Public Speaking tutorial

These two successive tutorial sessions introduce participants to the skills necessary to speak confidently in public. Faculty of Health Sciences Research Assistant Position

Dr. Brenda Leung, Emmy Droog Chair in Complementary and Alternative Health Care, is looking for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Research Assistant.

Reporting to Dr. Leung, the Research Assistant will be responsible for the ongoing coordination and management of multiple research projects. The primary purpose of the position will be to provide support in research related activities, including, but not limited to, developing research proposals and manuscripts, conducting literature search, writing up of literature reviews, perform basic data analysis, and other research related duties. Graduate Student Lending Enhancement in Library: Two Renewals on Main Collection Items

Effective November 16, 2015, graduate students are permitted two online renewals on Main Collection items (excluding non-current periodicals).

This change will allow graduate students to borrow an item for as long as 51 weeks provided there are no holds/recalls on the item. Items are still subject to a recall after the first three weeks in the initial loan period. Read more

The School of Graduate Studies is pleased to announce that Stacey Leavitt (MA ’12, BA ’09) has joined the team as the Experiential Learning Coordinator. In this newly created position, Stacey will provide cross-campus facilitation, implementation, and coordination of the experiential learning components of various graduate programs, amongst other duties. SSHRC Storytellers now accepting applications

On November 19, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council launched the fourth annual Storytellers challenge. This initiative challenges post-secondary students to show Canadians how social sciences and humanities research is affecting our lives, our world and our future for the better. Visit the SSHRC website for further details.

November PUBlic Professor Series

November's PUBlic Professor Series featured Dr. Craig Coburn, from the Department of Geography, as he discussed Understanding the Complexities of Imaging the Earth: The Challenge of Image Calibration. Learn more about Dr. Coburn's research and view his full presentation on the UNews website

Dr. Jennifer Copland, from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, will also be featured this month as she discusses Sitting and Stepping: The Health Implications of Our Daily Behaviour. This event will be held on Thursday, November 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. at City Hall

Spring 2016 Registration

All new and continuing graduate students are required to register online via the Bridge every term.

Registration for graduate students in the Spring 2016 term will re-open from December 14, 2015 to January 12, 2016.
