Te Nukutai o Tapoa-Naval Point work progressingWork is progressing well at Lyttelton’s Te Nukutai o Tapoa-Naval Point to prepare the site for the SailGP race in January 2022. Foreshore improvements are almost complete and include removing debris and concrete waste and installing proper rocks. The ageing water main has also been replaced and tested, with the new line connected to the network last week. The Coastguard building has been demolished and a new temporary building created, while the car park site is being levelled and compacted in preparation for spreading a sub-base material before pavement can be laid. Designs for pavement and stormwater drainage have been completed and are being checked for compliance and approval. A big thank you to the many groups who use the site, or are based there, for your patience as this work is carried out.
