Create Freedom, Join Forces

With Liberation Day approaching, it is the perfect time to reflect a moment on what freedom means to you. With regards to your work, do you feel you're exerting your freedom the way you would really like? Or is something holding you back? It can take time, perseverence and resources to create freedom in your life and business, but in the end, it is definitely worth the quest.

In this Hubdate, Elselien Epema outlines why giving a voice to your most inner wishes can not only be an interesting expedition in training a free spirit, it can actually help you in your business. And read about how Venezuela and with it our sister Hub, Impact Hub Caracas, are currently facing harsh challenges. Thus, freedom is increasingly put under pressure. Lastly, Professor David Grayson shares his know-how on how to create change from within in large corporations. And you can be there, as he will come to tell about it on May 7th at Impact Hub Amsterdam!

All that said, pursuits to freedom - in whatever way, shape or form - tend to be more fruitful, if not just plain fun, when forces are joined. So go out there and connect!

What You Want To Do, But Really Don't Want To Do

As an entrepreneur you might hold the belief that you have all the freedom to envision and visualize everything you want to do. That is not necessarily a false frame of thought, but you do rely on whatever comes to mind. Whether you like it or not.

Of course you always have the freedom to choose whether you want to do something with an idea or not.

If you, at times, feel blocked or stuck, it might be because you’re ignorering your wishes. Perhaps you’re searching for the more appropriate ones or are forcing yourself to do the things that seem more logical or easy at first sight. Read more.

Holding Space in Venezuela- Meet Impact Hub Caracas

While protests have taken place for months and conflict has been part of Venezuelan life for years, it was the e-mail we received from our sister Hub, Impact Hub Caracas, on the day students took to the streets that made it all that much more real:

“Based on the very deplorable violent events that have taken place in the last hours in our city and country, we have decided to postpone our Impact Hub Caracas opening event. We consider there is not an appropriate moment to celebrate and on the other hand we do not want to put the security of anybody at risk." Read more.
