We were delighted that the North West was chosen to launch the new Stoptober campaign on Monday 9th September. Ultra runner and ex-smoker Rory Coleman (pictured) was joined by members of the community, as he pushed the ball through the streets of Salford. Last year thousands of local people across the region signed up and successfully quit for good, and this year Stoptober will be even bigger. Read more about the launch here.

We always knew big tobacco invested heavily in persuasion tactics, but confidential documents have revealed the formidable lobbying operation waged by a tobacco giant this month to delay European policy. Hi and welcome to your September e-news. Shorter days mean one thing - Stoptober is finally here! After amazing launches across the North West this week, it's now down to us all to push the campaign locally and get as many people signed up as possible. We are also busy this week sharing knowledge and expertise
at the national PHE conference where we are also launching our new document: Smoking: The true cost to public health, which helps people to understand the impacts of tobacco on communities. Please have a read and forward on.
