Deakin University's Retail Industry Fellow, Steve Ogden-Barnes, calls it Retail's Perfect Storm. As part of DeakinWeek, on 5 August Steve Ogden-Barnes presented to key industry stakeholders on the current climate in retail and the ways in which retailer's can maximise profit levers.

Deakin MBA ranked number 1 on Business Review Australia — Best Business Program

Deakin’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) course has received a 5-star rating from the Graduate Management Association of Australia Inc (GMAA).

This ranking is based upon the well-respected GMAA ranking of Australian MBAs and associated business schools.  The Deakin Graduate School of Business has consistently received a 5-star ranking from GMAA and this year has been ranked as the best of the best. 

The GMAA is a nationally recognised professional association for MBA graduates that aims to promote highly ranked business schools and courses in order to ensure that the value of graduate business and management qualifications in Australia continues to grow.

Enrolments now open in NSW for Certificate IV in Financial Services (Workers Compensation)

DeakinPrime is proud to offer the Certificate IV course in workers compensation case management that has been tailored for the NSW environment, and enables students to achieve the nationally recognised qualification of FNS41007 Certificate IV in Financial Services (Worker Compensation). It has been delivered in NSW since 2008.

This industry-leading course was developed by WorkCover NSW in collaboration with WorkSafe Victoria, NSW Scheme Agents, Self and Specialised Insurers, and other industry stakeholders and subject matter experts.  It is also being delivered by DeakinPrime in Victoria (since 2007) and in South Australia form March 2011.

Five minutes with: Colin Boldra

Colin Boldra is an Alliance Director at DeakinPrime. As the lead for DeakinPrime in Canberra, Colin has established and sustained the DMO Alliance, a pivotal partnership mid-way through its 10 year term. He has also recently co-authored a report on best practices in Continuing Professional Development, consulted to the Canadian Department of Defence and established a long-term leadership partnership with one of Australia's largest defence contractors.

Deakin Sets Business Challenge

Deakin sets business challenge — bring us your sustainability-related problems, WOFIE will supply the brains to solve them.

Deakin University is calling on the Donald Trumps and Alan Sugars of industry to challenge its post graduate students with their best business, but sustainability-related problems.

Head of the Deakin Graduate School of Business, Professor Ross Chapman said the problems would be used as part of an apprentice-style Workshop for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (WOFIE).
