Expect some noise and dust during parking lot construction
Construction will begin on a new parking lot north of Loop Road and an addition of 53 spaces to the Blue Daily Pay lot beginning in early June and concluding in September. Here’s what you can expect during construction.
The bulk of the work will take place on weekdays from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. in compliance with Clark County’s noise ordinance.
Weekend and evening work will take place at the discretion of the contractor.
A variety of heavy equipment will come and go. Some of it could be noisy or smelly and it might kick up dust. If dust becomes excessive, the contractor will water the site.
You might experience traffic delays on Loop Road.
The construction site will include a job-site trailer, two portable toilets and erosion control devices to keep the soil in place. All of this will be removed at the end of the project.
At the end of construction several parking lots will be renumbered and a new color scheme and fee structure will be assigned (more on that to come).
If you have questions, please reach out to Project Manager Jessie Steiger (6-9237), or visit vancouver.wsu.edu/lots.
Pathway construction may cause traffic delays
A pedestrian crossing and pathway will be built along the west side of NE Salmon Creek Avenue connecting WSU Vancouver to Pleasant Valley Park. Construction will begin in June and finish in early fall. Roads will remain open, but drivers should expect delays. For more information about this project, contact James Martin at jmmartin@wsu.edu.
