meteocontrol heads to South America! We’re pleased to announce the founding of our joint-venture company meteocontrol Chile SpA with headquarters in Santiago de Chile. This now puts us in a better position to care for our local clients there, provide faster technical support with no time delay, and more actively tap the photovoltaic market especially in Chile, Peru and Bolivia. You can read more about this in our current press release.

New editor: Parametrization of the performance ratio calculation
The standard IEC 61724-1 defines the formula for calculating the performance ratio. With the new editor in VCOM, you can modify the parameters of the calculation. This option enables you to define the data sources for energy, irradiance and calculation period. You will find the editor in the system configuration: Just click the wrench icon in the system level.
The new feature is now available to all partners in the premium service level.
New area: Easily and clearly create reports
Report creation constitutes an essential element of our monitoring platform VCOM. A broad range of options are available for exporting data and reports. You can, for instance, create system reports or automatically export analytical data as a CSV file.
To make creating a report even easier and clearer, we’ve designed a new area. We will provide you with a summary of the various types of reports here in the next monthly release. You will find the area in the main navigation display by using the shortcut key “r.”
Portfolio reports: Your PV portfolios at a glance
The option to create portfolio reports is now available to all our partners at the Professional or Premium service levels: The intuitively designed wizard is easy to use: You simply select the systems you want to have appear in the report. Currently, standard content is stored — that is, tables with key performance indicators. The format produced is DOCX. We are continuously expanding the features to also make it simple to prepare individual reports for stakeholders. Be sure to stay up to date by reading our monthly newsletter!
Give the beta version a try now. We look forward to receiving your feedback!
Please note:
To create portfolio reports, you must be an administrator or operator in the VCOM group.
Ftp push compatible with Windows servers
With the blue’Log Firmware 1.8.4, the ftp push service is also compatible with Windows servers.
We would like to let you know in advance that the file names will change as part of this expansion: For indicating the time of day, hyphens will be used in place of colons. Here are a couple of examples:

We have reengineered and refined our proven irradiance sensors of the Si series with analog output. The sensors remain identical on the outside, so there are no changes to deal with in terms of the dimensions and mechanical mounting. We have also retained the connecting-cable configuration and the internal temperature compensation.
Here are the new additions at a glance:
-
Uniform measurement area for irradiance ranging from 0 to 1,500 W/m²
-
Uniform measurement area for the internal module temperature of the sensor cells ranging from -40°C to 90°C
-
Improved measurement uncertainties for the internal module temperature of the sensor cells
-
As a result of the improved measurement areas, there are new values for gradient and offset for the configuration of the analog input on the data logger. Please keep in mind the modified values, in particular when setting up the WEB’log.
We will start delivery of the new sensors in mid-November. Orders for the new sensors are already being accepted, and their price remains the same. During this transition, the currently available sensors will be supplied.
The following overview provides you with information about the replacements for the individual sensors. Additional information is available on our homepage.
