We hope you think of BuildingLink as a key component of your property’s “Green” game plan. Because we sure do! We pride ourselves on making “going paperless” simple and easy. And we get a lot of satisfaction from helping buildings get rid of all those unnecessary sticky notes and paper logbooks floating around. So to celebrate Earth Day, we wanted to let you know about a couple of particularly “green” features you may not be aware of, and clue you in to some exciting green initiatives we’re currently investigating.
EarthLink Resident Portal Theme: We’ve started by customizing an Earth Day template for your Resident Site. (This is a little sneak peek of a feature we’ll be releasing shortly, allowing building managers to design and customize the Resident Site background whenever the mood strikes – stay tuned!) If you noticed that your resident site looks a bit - um - earthier today than it did yesterday, embrace it! We hope it’s helped you get in to the Earth Day spirit.
Public Transit Widgets: With our specialized transit widgets, we make it easy and convenient for your residents to take public transit. Adding our customized transit widgets to your Public Display screen and Resident Homepage empowers your residents to get where they need to go without their car keys. (After all, leaving your car in the garage is one of the easiest ways to keep your carbon footprint small!) Shuttle Bus App: While we’re on the subject of leaving those car keys behind, let’s talk about our Shuttle app, which helps residents coordinate your building’s shuttle service schedule into their daily commute. Our shuttle app tracks the driver through a GPS system, which means figuring out exactly where that shuttle bus is becomes as easy as glancing at your resident home page or your building’s Public Display screen. Enertiv - The latest in “Personal Energy Dashboards”: This Earth Day seems as good a time as any to introduce you to one of our favorite new energy-related incubators, Enertiv, which provides real-time feedback on energy usage and efficiency. Enertiv identifies where money and efficiency is being lost, and provides specific recommendations (based on your building’s energy readings) to save money and increase sustainability.
