Police Explorers Golf Tournament foursomes selling out fast!


Golf LogoTime is running out to reserve a foursome for the Palm Beach Gardens Police Explorers' 5th Annual Golf Tournament which will be held on Saturday, September 15th at the PGA National Resort and Spa. Foursomes are still available on the Palmer Course as the Champion Course is sold out.

Business executives, corporate decision makers and avid golfers from throughout Palm Beach County will be participating in this prestigious tournament. Sponsored by the Police Foundation, all proceeds benefit young adults aspiring to become Police Officers as well as other local youth programs.

The Tournament will be a shotgun start with a scramble format on both the Champion Course, the official course of The Honda Classic and also The Palmer Course, named after its designer, Arnold Palmer. This course is one of the more forgiving at PGA National and a fun play for any level golfer.

All players and sponsors are also invited to a complimentary pre-tournament party at Brio Tuscan Grille located in The Gardens Mall on Friday evening, September 14th from 6-7:30 PM.

Police Foundation to Participate in National Night Out Against Crime


National Night Out Against Crime is a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and organized locally by the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department.

The National Night Out campaign involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states.

The Palm Beach Gardens Police Foundation will again participate in National Night Out in an effort to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation.

This year's event will take place on Thursday, August 9th from 5:30p to 9:00p at the Municipal Complex on Burns Road in conjunction with the ever popular Gardens Summer Market Nights.


Palm Beach Gardens DUI Officer Receives Two Recognition Awards


HantonPalm Beach Gardens Police Officer Melinda Hanton was recently recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for her efforts to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.

MADD LogoAt their 2012 MADD Florida Symposium, Officer Hanton received the "Outstanding Dedication to DUI Enforcement" Certificate.

Hanton was also recognized by the Safety Council of the Palm Beaches for her efforts in DUI Enforcement and Education.

The Police Foundation congratulates Officer Hanton for her efforts to help keep drunk drivers off the streets of our City.
