As part of LISC NYC's continuing commitment to the Bronx, it teamed with State Farm to support borough native Jennifer Lopez's June 4th concert
at Orchard Beach in Pelham Park. LISC NYC has been active in the Bronx since the early ‘80s and currently works on the inter-related issues of diet-related diseases, poverty, and unemployment to help residents live longer and healthier lives. State Farm has invested more than $1 million in grant funding to LISC NYC to support energy efficiency and water retrofits and neighborhood greening efforts and it currently supports LISC NYC’s Two Shades of Green
(TSG) pilot program. TSG helps affordable housing owners consume less energy and water in their buildings and reduce operation and maintenance costs while increasing the health and wellness of residents and staff.

The Cashin Fellows, 2014
One of the reasons summers at LISC are slightly different than the rest of the year is the CASHIN FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM. LISC NYC places fellows, most are in college with a few recent high school graduates, in internships at some of our CDC partners as well as in some New York City and National departments to learn about community development, capacity building and the fashioning of sustainable communities.
