We are happy to see John rising to the rank of Sergeant and wish him well as he continues his career in Juno Beach.

AEDs in public places

As a followup to our December 2023 Police Foundation newsletter, the Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) have been received and are in the process of being installed by Public Works in four public areas throughout Juno Beach. They will be easily accessible and in various highly visible Town locations where they can be quickly retrieved in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest.

According to Fire-Rescue studies, "For every minute that goes by that someone doesn't receive CPR they lose a 10% chance of survival." The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says more than 356,000 people are affected by cardiac arrest each year.

More specific details on these installations will be forthcoming. We look forward to having them operational as soon as possible after the start of the new year.
