We are always striving towards making Marwell as accessible as possible, for all of our guests. Recently, we have been working with Autism Hampshire, to improve our provision for guests with autism. Check out our amazing video from when they visited. We are also part of the Autism Ambassador scheme, so please email us if you have any questions. You may also want to read about the facilities and services we have available for guests with accessibility needs. Our workshops are interactive and hands-on, with special sensory sessions tailored specifically to students working from the P-levels upwards. Our standard workshops can be made accessible for SEN groups working at higher levels too. In addition to this, our teaching staff are all trained in basic Makaton. When creating a booking you will be asked to fill in a SEND form. You can inform us if you would like signing in your session and let us know about any other needs or considerations for your group. A-Level ConferencesPlaces are filling up quickly for our autumn 2019 A-level conferences. Our half day conferences are a great opportunity for students to learn more about what we, at Marwell Zoo, do in terms of conservation and behaviour monitoring. Autumn 2019 Conference dates The conferences are a great way for students to mix with other schools in an engaging environment. The taught sessions have been developed to match the new science and psychology curricula and are an excellent way to enhance the knowledge gained at school or college in an immersive setting. Find out more about A-level conferences on our website. Animal Stars at Marwell! It's always enjoyable planning your route around the zoo. Even more so, when new arrivals are involved! On Friday 14 June we welcomed a male plains zebra foal. You can locate mum, Neve, and the foal next to our giraffes. We also welcomed two lesser kudu calves to the collection, a species previously never bred in the zoo. Keepers have named the female calf Shaka (top left), and the younger male, Kojo. Both can be spotted in a shared paddock, with the mountain bongo. Please use our free recce visit to plan your route and check out our map so you can locate our new arrivals easily. New Cancellation PolicyPlease be aware of our new cancellation policy. Due to a high volume of late cancelled workshops this year, we have reviewed our cancellation policy. Should you wish to cancel or move a workshop please help us by doing so as soon as possible but at least 4 weeks prior to your visit date.
