PreK4 eNews

God certainly created each of us in an amazing way!  We loved talking about the uniqueness of each child (hair color, eye color, boy or girl, birthday, likes and dislikes) and how God knows all about us and HE thinks we are extra special!

Next week we will focus on the special family that God gave to each of us. We will also begin learning letters, letter sounds, and correct letter formation.  We will focus on a letter each week, beginning with “Cc” next week.

Next Week

  • Bible Verse: “I praise You, for You made me in an amazing and wonderful way!” Psalm 139:14 (we will recite this verse in chapel next week so practice at home too!)
  • Bible: Noah Obeys God
  • Reading/Phonemic Awareness: We will introduce the letter “Cc” and the sound that hard “C” makes (think cat, cup, color). We will also learn that words have syllables.
  • Math: #2 and Graphing
  • Unit: God Made ME Special/I Have a Special Family
  • Show and Tell: Bring something that begins with the “hard” sound of C.

Important Dates

  • September 2 - Labor Day Holiday.  Enjoy the long weekend with your family!
  • September 9 - Students may bring a $1 or more donation for the Teacher Compassion Fund and wear spirit dress
  • September 9 - Cookie Dough orders are due (3 day students may turn in any orders on 9/10)
  • September 11 - Picture Day! These pictures will be in our elementary yearbook. Students wear regular dress code. In your child’s folder, you will find an order form for Picture Day.  If you wish to order pictures, you must return the order form by next Wednesday, along with payment or you may purchase photos online.  Pictures must be prepaid. If you are not satisfied with the photo, students can have pictures retaken at a later date.
  • September 13 - Dads and Donuts and “signing day”. Dads are invited to drop in between 7:00-8:00 a.m. in the cafeteria and start the day with their child and a donut breakfast. “Signing Day” at 7:30 a.m.  Shiloh cheerleaders and football players will be at the elementary drop off area, signing t-shirts and taking pictures with the children.  Children in our 3-day classes are welcome to come to have donuts and to see the football players.  We just will not be in class that day!

Reminder

  • According to DHS mandates, your child’s lunch box must contain: 1 protein, 1 grain, 1 fruit and 1 vegetable OR 2 fruits or 2 vegetables.  Thank you for your help in this area.
