COVID-19 Email from Bethanie
Dear all, Based on the latest health advice, due to new South Australian community cases being recorded and the evolving situation there, effective immediately anyone arriving from South Australia is now required to self-isolate for 14 days and be tested for COVID-19. We are doing everything possible to protect our vulnerable Bethanie community who are at risk of the severe impacts associated with contracting COVID-19. If you are visiting from South Australia, we kindly ask that you do not enter any Bethanie facilities and remain quarantined for 14 days. If you wish to visit a loved one in one of our aged care homes, we ask that you wait until you have completed quarantine and returned a negative COVID-19 test. Then, please contact the Facility Manager of the site you wish to visit so they can assist you in facilitating a safe visit for your loved one, our other residents and our staff. If there are circumstances that mean that timing of the visit is critical, please contact the relevant site manager to discuss. This situation that has unfolded in South Australia demonstrates just how rapidly COVID-19 can spread through our community. Because of this you will see staff and other families at Bethanie aged care homes intermittently wearing masks as a result of our expectation that anyone returning from interstate will wear a mask within an aged care home for 14 days after their return to Western Australia (irrespective of where they have travelled from). Please remember that senior Australians are amongst those most vulnerable to the more severe impacts of COVID-19. It is up to all of us to remain vigilant and keep them safe. Please remember to wash your hands, keep physical distance and download the COVIDSafe app onto your phone. While we aim to keep you as updated as possible about the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation, we do ask that you also endeavour to keep yourself informed of changes made by the State Government. Please find more information here. By working together and practicing flexibility, understanding, respect and compassion, we can ensure that we can continue to facilitate visits safely. That means cooperation from everyone involved. Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding while we work hard at ensuring we protect older and vulnerable Western Australians.
