Updated Table of Radio Spectrum Usage in New Zealand (PIB 21)

Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) has recently published a new issue of ‘Table of Radio Spectrum Usage in New Zealand (PIB 21)’ - Issue 11. This incorporates a number of updates from ITU Radio Regulation 2020, including a number of modifications from our recent planning on the 1700-2300 MHz and 3.5GHz band.

The interactive table version of PIB 21 will be updated as soon as possible.

Consultation on “24 – 30 GHz use in New Zealand” closed

Auction of FM sound broadcasting spectrum licences

Radio Spectrum Management has announced details for the auction of five FM sound broadcasting spectrum licences following an expression of interest process:

  • Grampians (Nelson City) 106.4 MHz, licence number 290092, reserve price: $47,205 incl. GST.
  • Otematata (Waitaki District) 94.9 MHz, licence number 290090, reserve price: $1,150 incl. GST.
  • Otematata (Waitaki District) 106.1 MHz, licence number 290091, reserve price: $1,150 incl. GST.
  • 83 Main Street Fairlie (Mackenzie District) 106.2 MHz, licence number 290089, reserve price: $1,150 incl. GST.
  • Mt Michael (Mackenzie District) 97.4 MHz, licence number 290134, reserve price: $1,150 incl. GST.

Auction 23 will be managed by Skylarc with the licence sold on the Trade Me website. The auction will start on 4 August 2021 and run for seven days until 11 August 2021.

The term of each licence is valid until 2 April 2031 provided the successful party meets the implementation criteria.
