PH 2nd Grade eNews
Wow - we are in May! We can’t believe we just have such a short time left with this second grade group! We read a lot of versions of Cinderella this week, ask your kiddo which one was their favorite.
Academics
-
Bible - Our study this week will be on Paul and Silas.

Bible verse - Acts 16:31, “So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and your household.”

Reading - Our story will be “Two of Everything.”

Spelling - We will work with words that have the prefixes re or un. Re means again/back and un means not or opposite. Here are some examples: refill, rerun, return, untie, unlock, unplug

Grammar - Possessive Pronouns

Math - Value of money, story problems with missing information, addition and subtraction with 0 in the minuend
Homework:

Monday: Math facts or math game for 15-20 minutes

Tuesday: Read Two of Everything and Stone Soup to an adult

Thursday: Study verse and spelling pattern
Important Dates & Information

May 12 (this is a change from May 18th) - Last day to earn words for Millionaires & Hundred Thousand Club. All library books need to be turned in on this day.

May 22 - Field Day and lunch, parents are encouraged to attend! Do not order lunch on this day. If your child is going to extended care they will need a change of dress code clothes.

May 23 - Awards’ Assembly 8:30 a.m. in Cross Church sanctuary, you will drop off your child at school like normal, so we can pass out AR medals -Last day of School - Dismissal immediately after the assembly - No Extended Care. No Lunch
