New Work at The Kennedy CenterI am so excited to finally share my new work of art that is now part of the permanent collection at the Kennedy Center’s new expansion, The REACH building in Washington, D.C. Other works displayed in the collection include Faith Ringgold, Sam Gilliam, Roy Lichtenstein, Glen Ligon, and more. “The Courage Within Me” is a multi-panel, moveable, collaborative work of art. In collaboration with the Kennedy Center Education program and students from four classrooms spanning D.C., I worked with youth in creating a design that demonstrates how they define courage. Rauschenberg ResidencyI am inspired and energized after spending the entire month of August at the Rauschenberg Residency, a creative center where Robert Rauschenberg's home and main studio is in Captiva Island, Florida. It was an honor to be at the residency and connect with the amazing group of artists as well as having the time to experiment and create new works in their facilities. I am still developing these new ideas and hope to share them out soon!
