Veterans Workforce Investment Program (VWIP) has been refunded for Veterans in Colorado

VWIP has been refunded for veterans in Colorado. VWIP funds can help veterans attain certifications in various sectors that would help veterans become more marketable. The rules for the VWIP funding have been relaxed and are no longer directed at "green" jobs. Call the local employment veteran's representative (DVOP) at the Workforce Center for more information. The representatives at the Larimer County Workforce are:

Traveling Vietnam Wall Coming to Fort Collins May 23-27

Vietnam Wall will be on display in Fort Collins from May 23-27th, 2013. The Veterans Plaza will pay homage to ALL U. S. Military Service Members with honorable service, past, present, and future. Any veteran, from any state, maybe listed on the Veterans Plaza Wall for no charge For more information go to:
www.veteransplazanoco.org. The wall be on display at Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado at 2626 West Horsetooth Road, Fort Collins, CO.

Do You Need Assistance in Updating Your Resume and Cover Letter? (Many of us do!)
If you need assistance in any of these areas or more, check out the Larimer County Workforce Center FREE workshops!
If you have not changed your resume in over a year it is out of date. Your resume is the tool to get you the interview. Having an out of date resume may be the reason you are not getting the interview. If you are not modifying your resume for each job that you apply for it may be a barrier to not getting that interview.

Unemployment Insurance Representatives will provide outreach walk-in services in May 2013 to the Larimer County Workforce Center. Please visit our website calendar for dates and times for our Fort Collins and Loveland offices.

Did You Know an Employer Can Make Up to $9600 for Hiring Veterans?
Make yourself more marketable to employers by letting them know you would be eligible for up to a $9600 tax credit if they hire you. This could be a great marketing tool for Veterans and give you a competitive advantage over peers in a tight job market. VIEW

Colorado Military Benefits- The State of Colorado offers special benefits for Military Service members and Veterans including Retired Military Pay, tax exemptions, state employment preferences, education and tuition assistance, vehicle tags, as well as hunting and fishing license privileges. Eligibility for some benefits may depend on residency, military component and veteran disability status.
