FROM THE ARCHIVE:

Park Hill, Urban Splash

NoChintz created a show apartment for Urban Splash development Park Hill in Sheffield. Our brief was to design an apartment that would accommodate mature residents looking to downsize from the family home. We created a balance between contemporary and homely using reclaimed furniture pieces scoured from antiques markets mixed with items by Hay and Muuto.

THIS MONTH:

NoChintz in 2014

January’s been far from dull in the NoChintz studio; from the minute we got back we’ve been working on some fantastic designs and installs. We’ll share the finer details in future issues (believe us, we can’t wait to get the pictures out there), but some of the highlights include a tasty new website for a foodie client, an innovative office fit-out and a fancy loft apartment for a London-based residential client.

A lot of the projects have involved both strands of our studio and our interiors and branding teams have worked in sync to put together some fantastic integrated concepts. One in particular we can’t wait to show you is a rockin’, retro diner concept for a new client in the South.

It’s a joy to work on so many wonderful projects and keeps us motivated through the cold, winter days. Keep an eye out for next month’s newsletter as some of these great concepts come to fruition.

Salut

We have recently been working with independent owners Sara and Jon Saunby who's dream it has been to open a wine bar in Manchester. The project will involve a full strip out of the old Oddbins unit on Cooper Street, where we will be building a new mezzanine level to maximise the covers in the space. The bar will have wine machines, and a retail offering geared to bringing an elegant and sophisticated wine specialist to the city centre. Look out for more details and images coming soon to the NoChintz blog.

Twenty Twenty Two

This month we have been working on the redesign of Northern Quarter event space Twenty Twenty Two. NoChintz consulted on the overall interior design of the space installing four dedicated Ping-Pong tables and using flashes of colour to highlight the original features in the space. We have continued the ping-pong theme with a bespoke light and branded ping-pong balls and paddles as a wall feature which artists will be invited to paint, evolving over the coming months. We also provided retro Danish furniture and vintage industrial pieces to update the seating areas, and continued the existing use of reclaimed materials through to new pallet walls and a back bar installation. We’ll have more details and all the official images in next month's newsletter. We are looking forward to our first game of ping-pong in the new facility!

NoChintz Designs UK's First Empty Store

This month NoChintz designed the UK's first 'Empty Shop' – a creative pop-up shop concept founded in Brazil. The Empty Shop is an eye-catching space in Manchester Arndale where shopper's donated clothes are displayed imaginatively by a team of stylists and bloggers. The fashion exhibits are then taken away each night and donated to homeless charity The Mustard Tree. We were approached and briefed by fit-out company Clarke Gough and Manchester Arndale to design the unique space ...Read More
