A Fresh Look

A Fresh Look

In the month that signifies a welcome change in the weather, longer days thanks to the vernal equinox and a fresh, vibrant outlook due to spring’s capacity for renewal and re-growth we have been busy at Cracking Ideas HQ! We have been sorting through all your cracking entries to our theme park competition   and have been overwhelmed by the quantity, quality and diversity of them all.

So far we have seen chocolate themed rollercoasters, doughnut and milkshake flumes, innovative ticket dispensing systems, queue busting gadgets, magic potion ghost trains and some fantastic posters advertising all the fun of the fair! You really are an amazingly innovative lot of cracking creators! If you haven’t had a chance yet to send us your entry, don’t worry there is still an opportunity! -The closing date is 31 March so if you get cracking there is time left for you to come up with your theme park entry and send it in to us.

March has been a busy Month for us on Twitter and Facebook too. We have celebrated Pancake Day and with its flipping races, yummy recipes and amazingly creative Mardi Gras masks and costumes. We’ve also looked at World Book Day , 3 March, and celebrated with a dedication to Dr Seuss (Birthday - March 2) and his 44 super-innovative children’s books. (Although we’ve been thinking that a combination of these themes would result in a rather unpalatable 1 fish, 2 fish, green eggs and ham pancake amalgamation probably best avoided!) Throughout all this celebration of creativity and innovation which we’ve been ably guided as always by our uber-creative ambassadors Wallace & Gromit.

8 March was International Women's Day when we asked you to nominate your top women innovators. Then for all you cracking whizz-kids and budding numerical geniuses there was World Math’s Day , 2 March. We also took a look into the world of inventions and marked the day, 7 March, when Alexander Graham Bell was granted the patent for his innovation - the telephone. We celebrated with Wales on 1 March with St. David's Day and later this month on March 17th it’ll be Ireland’s turn to make merry on St .Patrick’s Day.  Look out on Facebook and Twitter for posts and tweets to celebrate innovation, enterprise and creativity on these special days, and throughout March, and join in the cracking conversation taking place – we’d love to welcome you.
