Easter Book Spotlight | Ventura Campus

In light of Easter and the historical importance of the Cross and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ we wanted to make 2 important books available that address the most important questions anyone could ask such as: Why was Jesus Christ crucified? Why did he suffer so much? Did Jesus rise from the grave? What has this to do with me?

We have made available at our Resource Table Fifty Reasons Why Jesus Came to Die by John Piper and Scandalous by D.A. Carson for you to purchase after our Sunday gathering.

Upcoming Class at the Carpinteria Campus Taught by Pastor Tim Chaddick of Reality LA

How to Talk About the Gospel: What the Book of Acts Teaches Us About Everyday Evangelism

How often are opportunities to share our faith hijacked by awkward conversations about tough topics? How can we be sensitive to people’s questions and beliefs while presenting the truths of Jesus Christ? Many of us have been taught one or two particular methods of evangelism which don’t often fit into the variety of our daily conversations. This is where the Book of Acts surprises us. In it we find that there is only one gospel but a range of presentations. The ministry of the Apostles show us how they talk about the gospel to people from both religious and non-religious backgrounds, educated and non-educated, and in formal and informal environments. The words used to describe their presentations range from preaching and heralding to reasoning and persuading. How do these help us rethink evangelism today? Join us as we study the variety of gospel conversations in Acts and discover their meaning for our everyday mission. Along with other New Testament teachings, these truths are practically instructive and powerfully encouraging for reaching people with the gospel.

Feeling called to plant a church, Tim and his family moved to Hollywood in 2006 to begin this work, where he currently serves as Teaching Pastor. Reality LA is part of the Reality family of churches, a small movement committed to relational church planting and serving the broader body of Christ.

Young Adult Worship and Prayer Night

Please join us next Friday, April 25th at 7pm at the Ventura campus for a Young Adult Worship and Prayer Night. This night is for anyone who has a heart for young adults in their 20s and 30s or is a young adult themselves. Reality is unifying with six other churches in the area to gather around Christ in prayer, preaching and worship. Christ is bigger than one church, which is why it is exciting to unify with other churches in Ventura to worship Christ together.

On Friday night we will be worshiping together and seeking God's heart for young adults in Ventura County. Also join us for Broomball afterwards at Channel Islands Ice Skating Rink!

Youth Parent Meeting | Santa Barbara

This will be an informational meeting on the changes that have occurred within both the high school and junior high school youth groups. It will also be a time to introduce some other changes that will be coming to the junior high group in Santa Barbara. A free lunch will be provided. Please e-mail kaleb@realitysb.com with any questions.

Date | Sunday, April 27th
Time | Immediately following 2nd service
Location | In front of church

Water Baptism

If you have recently become a Christian or have been a Christian for a long time and have never been baptized, the Ventura and Carpinteria campuses will be having baptisms on the following dates:

Baptism | Carpinteria Campus
Sunday, May 18th at 1pm at Carp Beach at the end of Palm Ave

Baptism & Baptism Class | Ventura Campus
Sunday, May 4th at 2:30pm at Harbor Cove Beach
The Ventura campus will be having a baptism class that is mandatory for those intending to be Baptized on Sunday, May 4th at 1:15pm in the Jr. High Room immediately following our 2nd gathering (childcare will be provided). The class will address and answer questions such as: What is baptism? Why should I be baptized? Who may be baptized? May I be baptized if I have been previously?

Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day. (Acts 2:38 & 41, NLT)
